I am looking for the name of a movie about two american women who took a trip overseas and went to prison.?

Their family didn't know they were in prison. They were in prison for a crime they did not commit. They were in possibly Africa or Europe and were not released at the same time.

Maybe you are thinking of Brokedown Palace (1999) with Claire Danes and Kate Beckinsale. Bill Pullman was their lawyer.

They were in Thailand.
