Hi. My New Year's resolution was to stop bitting my fingernails. Well I stopped and they are extrememely thin. They are so thin they are bendable and flexible. Like if I press My finger at the end of my nail, it bends. My aunt was grossed out by it so I dont think its normal. do you have anything that will help me grow strong nails?

Alma, just buy some nail protectant at a store. Go to Walgreens or something. Somewhere in the beauty department where you buy the regular nail polish there should be like some nail protectant. Just read the label and what it'll do and just look for one that will make your nails stronger. That's how I keep mines strong.

I would look into taking some vitamins- look it up on the interenet. Theres lots of them that help with hair and nails and over all well being. I'd keep an eye on what ur eating, too! Don't go for the hard as nails nail polish...that's only temporary, once you take it off, ur back where u started. Do you smoke cigs or anything like thats? Anyway, I'd look into taking some good vitamins.

I had the same problem as you since I used to bite my nails - don't worry, it's normal. There are a number of nail hardening products out there. The one that worked the best for me is Sally Hansen - Hard As Nails. It comes in clear and in lots of colors. I found that clear was the best since my nails were too short to draw attention to them with color. Try not to use it constantly though, since apparently frequent use weakens your nails after you stop using it. But I was able to use it for 6 months straight for no problem until my nails hardened and became normal.

You should take vitamins with iron and eat lots of greens. I use to have the same problem when I was younger.
