You should check your state laws. In some states if you are on contract/temp for over one year the company has to provide benefits to you regardless of your status. That won't get you all your pay, but at least you'd have some of the other things that are part of a total compensation package.

The other thing is, go to HR and ask what can be done to speed up the process. Someone may just be putting off their department budget, and it is affecting you unintentionally.

My mother worked as a temp in an up and coming company 20 years ago which has become one of the largest companies in the country now, I tell you this because she might be able to give you some very good advice on this subject. I am meeting her tonight so I can't offer you an answer right now, but if it would be alright, I will tell her about your problem and see what she has to say and get back to you when I get home tonight, it will probably be around midnight. If you will email me that would help so that I have the link to email you a response asap. If you're interested, just drop me a quick email and I'll see what I can find out!

Well, first remember that they really are saving money. To pay you what they pay the agency they would incur a bunch of other expenses.

Vacation and Holiday Pay
Insurance (both coverage for them and your health)
Unemployment insurance
Workerman comp

Presently your employer (temp agency) pays for all of this stuff.

"head count" indicates corporation, which may include a union to take into consideration. If there is a union don't count on the job even if head count goes up.

Have you applied through their HR department? This is most likely your best course of action. It is seriously unusual for them not ot have had ANY job openings on two years, they may not be able to hire you unless you apply in a certain fashion.

Keep in mind that the full time job may actually pay less then the temp one.

You need to contact the Human Resources Department of this company and see if they have any fulltime positions open under your job description. Then, apply. GOOD LUCK!!! If you have been working there for over 2 years, you have to be an excellent employee and deserve a fulltime postion. Go for it!!!

You are stuck. How bad do you need the job? You can threathen to quit, but they can replace you. You won't get that kind of money unless you become a consultant. What kind of work is it? given that it is 2 years, and given that you have not been converted, I think they think you are replaceable. I think you are naive to think that you will get the money from the temps. Technically, they are trying not to pay benefits. How easy can you find another job? Unless you have leverage and leave(which I think you can't), you can't do much. If you have leverage, get another offer and ask them to counter. If they don't, you can leave for a better job. Good luck with your adventures.

If your not happy with the amount of money that your making, and your working in a location where there are ther other jobs to go to (anywhere but SE Michigan), and you have skills... find another job. The company that you work for doesn't care about you, they only care about getting their cut from whoever they place in the job.

From their vantage point, you are not doing work for them directly so they don't care who plugs the contract hole.

I suggest you find something else.
