In California landlords are not required to supply AC. Buy yourself a portable.

I do not believe a landlord has to supply you with ac. Now if it is in your lease that the ac is included they may be required to fix it in a time;y manor, but do not expect a reimbursement for the hotel.
80-80 is fine, its not like you are living in 100+ weather right now. i would say suck it up and feel fortunate you even have ac, there are many people out there who cannot afford to have a roof over their head, never mind an ac.
Good luck

I've been a landlord for years. I have to supply a working heating system, that's it. If central air / AC is in your lease, and its not working, then your landlord has to fix it and he might supply you with a AC that fits in your window.
Iv'e never heard of a landlord that will put tenants up in a hotel for hot weather, go buy yourself a fan.
