I used to think that Phil Jackson was a good coach, but now I wonder if he only had success because he had talent to work with. He doesn't seem to know how to win anymore. Comments and thoughts, anyone?

Well kobe is a piece of crap. So maybe a leader with a little more character would help... But gettin healthy and a legitimate big man is a need.

I think Jackson is a great coach in his mind set and philosophy. i mean, many coaches have coached and failed when they were with the Bulls. Jackon seemed to work well with Jordan when he came in.

but in terms of luck, i have to agree. as a player he won with the knicks. a team that was full of stars. then he went and coached a team with perfect role players, the best player in the world, and a top 10 talent - he wont 6 championships there. then he left, moved to the lakers and won some more in a very similar environment!!!

i still think he is a good coach. i mean look at kobe. the guy has become a leader now of the lakers. h is passing up shots without fuss and working well with the role players around him. Jackson deserves some credit there

yes he has been lucky in the past. but with a team plagued by injuries, he has done well in the competitive west to keep his team in playoff contention

ok they could be worse, last night was just hectic and i think that every Laker fan was wondering Why? Well when u have Kobe and no1 else that usually happens. some people say Kobe shoots too much but if hes the only good thing then i say he doesnt shoot enough. There rebounding was a joke last night and with big guys in the Lakers Lineup u have to wonder how there rebounding is this bad. Kobe will take them to the play-offs when they get a descent player that can shoot the outside shot, and can rebound. I would say try to pick up eddie Curry who shoots 80 percent and get tons of rebounds.

They don't have Odom and Walton so that is why they aren't doing as good. Phil Jackson is still a good coach just he needs his injured players to come back so they can be like they were before. They can't rely on Bryant to win every single game for them.

if phil jackson werent on that team then that team would have won only 15 games today...your real ignorant because if you look at the lakers roster ..basically our starting line up is out i bet you werent saying that before when the lakers actually had all the players on the court in the beginning of the season

they are biding their time Kobe can explode for 81 any night but, he's trying to prove that he can be a distributor as well as a scorer, and the injuries to Odom and Walton, their second and third best players is a major blow, and andrew bynum will be an allstar very soon, they will be a tough match-up as soon as the playoffs roll around, did you see Kobe last year? He wants to shine the birghtest in the big show, the playoffs and he will, don't worry

Yes. (See Boston Celtics)

To your other point. My mom could have coached the Bulls and Lakers to a title with the teams he jumped on.

He had to manage whining players, but make players into great teams? no

Red Auerbach was a team builder, xo guy and a player motivator. He is the king of [pro coaches.

You're right, the Lakers basically have sucked lately, we're not used to this, Bryant has been off, Walton, Odom are injured, it's a mess. They should've traded Kidd for Bynum, they didn't and now thy're regretting it.

i duno anything about football and that stuff or whatever. But if sombody is doing worse then they use to, it doesn't mean its cause he had talent to work with. It could be cause of some personal problems he's having. things at home and stuff. Stress and not sleeping well enough. He'll probably get better. just wait and dont critizies him.

Clearly. The Lakers are actually pretty good right now (top 10 in NBA). Just think two year back (rape year) when they missed the playoffs entirely.
