It's difficult to say whether the fin damage is from fin rot or from nipping; however, either way, you have an infection from one or the other that needs to be treated. Add some Maracyn or Maracyn-2 according to directions. You will need to remove the media from the filter or it will filter out the medication from the water. Don't turn off your filter. No, you don't have to change your water before adding the medication, but when the treatment is done, you may wish to add some Cycle or Bio-Spira to the water to build up the beneficial bacteria as the medication can be pretty harsh on it. Good luck!

Sounds like possible fin rot or the male is picking on the females too much. I would suggest getting a breeder tank that hangs inside the tank and put the male into it for a couple of days. Treat the water for fin rot just in case. If they get better and you let the male back out and it starts happening again, get a couple more females to keep him busy.
Good Luck

it might be the male nibbing, it could be one of the females... one of my female mollies is very aggressive and is definitely on top of the food chain in my tank!
You can put the med in there right away. I don't know what the med is for, if it is to aid fin growth it should be fine to leave the filter running, if it's for disease, you probably have to switch of your filter for an hour or two... read what it says on the bottle.
Good luck

Ich? As long as the fish don't have white salt-like dots on them, they won't have ich...
They probably have fin rot. Separate the male and put some aquarium salt in the water. This disease is fortunately easy to cure.

I bet it has ick. Clean your tank (you know only partway, right? no more than half a water change as to not kill the beneficial bacteria) and get some meds, remove the charcoal filter.
