Im on the combined pill (i think its called that anyway!), and I admittedly was bad last week taking the pills, id forget for 2 days, take them both, then forget another 2 days, then take them both... and i've been pretty sloppy like that for the past 3 years - thats how long ive been on the pill for, but ive never once got pregnant.
I always finish my last pill of that batch on the friday and my period comes without fail on the monday.
This time was pretty bad for me, and i ended up taking thursday and fridays pills on the saturday i think as far as i remember.
And I know if i am preg it is my fault for not being responsible with those pills.
But I just need to know if i should be worried that im late.
Its now monday, and ive been waiting for my period since last monday.
It has gone through my mind the possibility of my periods just having stopped,as i have been on the pill for 3 years now. But when would you recommend is the best time to go to the clinic about this?
Thanks x

I would first go buy a test and pee on a stick before you go to the Dr. You may have just messed your hormones up which in turn messed your period up, but for peace of mind, I would go to the drug store and buy the test.

Wait another 10 -12 days. A pregnancy test right now might give you a false negative. Are your breasts sore, and do you feel bloated? You're right about being bad about the pills...you should think of another form of birth control which you don't have to rely on your compliance. With missing that many pills off and on, the ovary might have just put out and egg...and that's all she wrote!

My Best Advice is to NOT sit and wonder. Buy a pregnancy test if its been more than a week. I would suggest switching to a more comfortable birth control that works better for you. I highly recommend the patch it works great for me for the past 2 years. 99% effective and I heard the pill isn't very effective. So good luck with all!

Pregnancy tests test for Hcg hormone. Over the counter tests claim you can test as soon as the first day you miss your period but this is disputed as this hormone can very from woman to woman. If you take a home test, its wise to take another a few days later to confirm the test, or go to your doctor.
Either way, you need to get to a doc to see if you are pregnant, if you are not, you need to talk to your doctor about another method of birth control, perhaps the shot, as the pills are not working for you.

Sorry you did admit to some pill errors, and although anxiety can delay a period, I was taught that a woman of child-bearing age who misses a period is pregnant until proven otherwise. I mast advise you to simply do a pregnancy test!

WTF?! Any idiot on the pill knows that if you miss one or it is more that 12 hours late, dont friekin take them both! Thats moronic! What good will it do? My advice is do an up the duff test, See ya doctor, for gods sake read the info leaflet before you take ANY meds, and if your irresponsible on the pill, switch to something more solid such as the injection or implanon - small matchstick sized implant in your arm which is changed every 3 - 5 years,

in case you study the training that come along with your start administration in case you in basic terms omit one pill there should not be any reason which you would be able to desire to apply yet another sort of start administration. in spite of the indisputable fact that, you certainly could desire to take it as quickly as you remember. while you're so terrified of turning into pregnant and not waiting for that duty than you may desire to no longer be having intercourse. quite unprotected intercourse.

As soon as possible, I'd say. If you're not pregnant, it will save you worrying for longer than you need to. If you are you need to discuss it with someone.
