It's the word the hockey players use themselves for when they try to fake out another player to get past them or serve a goal. It's a good word.

The analyst of the Dallas Stars (Darryl 'Razor" Reagh) uses all kinds of adjectives in describing the game - he use to be a goalie. He works some games for Versus - look for him. He's great fun.

Yes, they use it. It means you are trying to fake out the goalie or opposing player. Make him think you are going one way but go the other. Or might shoot might not.

Rick Jeanneret and Jim Lorentz use it...it means to try and trick the goaltender committ to where he or she thinks you're going to take a shot, then switch it up and beat him or her.

Sure, they use it sometimes. But you'll also hear "makes a move," "fakes," "reverses," "switches to the backhand," or million other ways to describe the moves they make.
