What tempts women to wear make-up?

Women wear makeup for a variety of reasons, some holding true for some and some holding false for others. It really depends on the person, because there is a large variance.

For example, I wear makeup because I love applying it. I feel it's such a fun hobby, and it's a good way to take some time out of the day to get creative with different colors, shapes, and products. So, makeup can be an artistic motivation, not just the classic "to look better."

Some women have minor flaws, like uneven skin, and find that using makeup allows them to feel more comfortable and like themselves in a world where appearance is increasingly important, whether or not we want that or accept that notion.

Another group of women wear makeup because it's trendy or it's the current "in" thing to do, whether because they're turning sixteen in high school or because they've joined a new group of friends that dabbles heavily in it.

There are women who do not feel they're ugly or really have any flaws to cover up, but they want to enhance their natural features by accentuating them through makeup. Someone might want to show off their high cheekbones by contouring, while another person emphasizes her long lashes by adding a coat of black mascara.

It really depends on the person, and there are always good and bad reasons to use something, including makeup.

Different people wear makeup for different reasons. Most women wear it to enhance, not cover their features and feel better about going about everyday life. Some people wear it specifically to cover up acne, redness or scars. In general I think a little makeup in the right places, applied in the right way is a nice way to brighten and enhance a womans face. :)

Because somewhere along the way, someone convinced the general population that natural beauty is no longer beauty at all, and that there is some sort of 'standard' that we all must fit.
Unfortunately, we are in a conformist society, so most people believe they have to follow this fabricated 'standard' to fit in and feel pretty. Very few people feel that they are attractive just as they are.
This applies sadly, to many aspects of life as well, not just to fashion and beauty.

It's fun, and I love playing around with different colours.

Also enhances my eyes, and covers up what I feel most awkward about.
