Our government doesn't give a crap about our grandchilden, as it is, my 12 year old son will be paying for this stupid war in taxes for the rest of his life.
Europe had a GW summit and wanted US co operation and all dubya did was sit there like a lump, then went home and did nothing. You and I both know that something should be done, try getting the government off its butt to do something. Good luck.

Nobodies gonna like this for the simple reason they have no real knowledge on the subject. But the answer is because whatever we do will have no effect. The current environmental fad is the current excuse to raise taxes and divert attention from real issues. This planet has survived far worse catastrophes than man, e.g a volcano going off creates the same amount of Co2 that the UK creates in 3 months, and this is a regular occurrence.

The real cause of the problem is not that we are creating significantly more Co2 than the planet can cope with, it has a natural ecosystem than balances this out, it's that we are also trying to remove the balancing structure. 100,000years ago the land-mass was covered 63% with trees, that ensured there was always a balance in the other direction, swaying on a lack of Co2, today we have removed such a large amount of tree's that the reason Co2 level's are rising is because nature's self-levelling tool has been damaged.

Bear in mind that ice-ages have always occurred, and that 95% of the global warming is still caused by the sun's radiation depending on our orbital sway. The very best way to help preserve the environment would be for each and every person to plant a new tree in their garden, 60million trees (the UK's population) would neutralise all the Co2 created by our entire road network and almost half our manufacturing industry, so bear this in mind before blindly following the latest excuses for tax increases and communal followings. Yes we want to look after our environment, who wants to live in an atmosphere full of smog, but if you want to preserve the nature of our planet, the most ecologically-friendly thing you can do is to plant a new tree each year for each member of your household. Prevention is better than cure.

I used to agree fully with you on this but now I have sort of changed my opinion. If you think about it, the scientists with real, factual information are saying that it's just a cycle and it has to happen and if it doesn't happen, that will be even worse for the environment. The other scientists who are basing all of their information on theories and not factual information, are the ones talking about global warming. The first scientists I talked about have actually proven that back in 17 something (I think 1712 but I'm not sure, I know it was 17 something) that they thought global warming was occurring then too. So I honestly believe it's just a cycle and will be over when it's over. I still think people should try to pollute the air less and I do believe there should be a law against that and we should keep researching about cars and trucks that pollute the air less as well. I hope this helps.

No.

Global warming is real, but human activity is not responsible for it (despite the media hysteria and hype).

Global warming is primarily a function of solar activity and its effect on oceanic and atmospheric states.

Unfortunately, even if humans stopped emitting all carbon now (that included breathing out), it would have a negligible effect on climate change.

The reason global warming has become a hot topic, is that's where the research grants are going. It's more about money than the environment.

Global Warming is a lie.

Climate change is controlled by solar radiation and it is a matter of fact that there has been no sudden increase in temperature. In fact the Vikings used to farm on Greenland a thousand years ago, and in the middle ages England grew the best vines in Europe.
Then came the mini ice age and the River Thames regularly froze over.

16,000 children starve to death each day, and the money being wasted on Global Warming measures could end that tommorrow, but starving kids are loosing out to the phoney prophets of doom!

Don't take my word for it, read what the real scientists are saying for yourselves. the links are below.

1) Long term changes are impossible to predict.
2) Nobody really knows what if any effect human activity is having in whatever climate changes there may be.
3) It is a global issue & if the countries dumping the most "greenhouse gases" into the atmosphere (China, India & Russia) don't do their part, our efforts are drops in a bucket.

To tackle global warming means significant changes in our lifestyle and production capabilities. Simply, to produce we need to polute, and economic gains result in social welfare, and people want more and better things than less, so electoral campaigns and voters are more concerned with economics than environment. How would you feel if the govt in the US taxed gasoline the same way the Europeans did? A hike in a dollar from gas prices already gets people up in arms, imagine an extra dollar just for taxes?

WHOA! What exactly do we all know about global warming? That it hasn't been proved? That there is still significant disagreement about the possible effects of global warming? Or do you mean what you know about global warming? It is a mistake to assume that your view is the only view....much less the correct one.

The Government are well aware of global warming and have siezed the opportunity to use it as an excuse to steal a lot more money from us in what they laughingly call green taxes.

GW is a reality.

The real question is how much does human activity contribute to this trend?

What's more important, worrying about this, or finding alternative fuels just so we can to stick it to the rag heads?

Take the power away from the rag heads then use the money saved to worry about other things.
