contact mac they have a system that if the computer goes in for repair the ID number is taken by the service people and entered in to macs data base of lost/stolen systems. the repair man will then be notified that it is a lost/stolen system and he will call the police,

plus if it goes online mac may be able to get the IP Address of the person that is using it providing they go on the mac website

call mac to find out what they can do for you

Nah, you're pretty much screwed dude. There is asset tracking software around that many companies use for just such an occasion but you need to install it on the machine in advance.

Oh, and by the way, the IP address isn't tied to the actual machine, it's tied to your net connection (i.e. your account with your ISP and your physical phone connection) so knowing what your IP address was wouldn't make the blindest bit of difference.

yes you can.If you have the reciept, call the store up and ask for the model number. When they find the number, send it to the police, and have them search for where it is and when they find it, they will be able to catch the guy and send him to jail, and you can get your i track back.If that doesn't work, then just forget it and get another one.Next time if you get another one, then be better guarded and have a weapon of some sort to protect yourself or have an alarm system so if your away, your house will be protected.

Almost impossible.... Forget it... Or believe that police will get it back to you...
