I know this topic/ question sounds stupid but please hear me out...why is it that men are yelled at ,put down, called a woman beater and even sometimes jailed when they defend themselves and hit a woman who has been beating the s#!t out of him first? I saw this case on a court t.v. show and the man was given a good lashing because he hit a woman back who had started the fight and was beating the crap out of him!he said that he did not know what else to do cause she just kept comin at him and he was backed in a corner,do you think some women take advantage of this rule/law?what should/would you do in a situation like this?

I guess some women are hypocrites, they wanna tell tall tales about how men and women are equal in EVERYTHING, and then they want to preach about the evils of hitting a woman. Which is it? You cant have it both ways! If you believe in FULL equality, then you should have no problem with a man who hits a woman, because after all she is just as capable as he is right???? I will probably get negative votes for this, but it will only be the hypocrites doing it.

I believe some women do take advantage of the fact that men should not hit women.no one should be hit men or women .strength is the issue here .men are stronger then women.so most men have a great advantage physically over a women. And women shouldn't provoke men who do hit women by abusing the man in what ever way.

yes, women do take advangate of this....

they are always seen as the "weaker gender" as said before.. but now there is a heck of a lot of talk abotu women being equal and everything.. all of which i agree with....

if women are equal.. they should be treated as equals... if i went after a man with flying fists then i would expect and even want him to hit back... the court system is becoming very sexist.. but now in favor of women... we deserve rights but not more nor less than men...

if you are being physically attacked by a woman and serious harm can be done.. hit back

This is an easy one. The vast majority of female on male DV is NOT reported.

We see it on TV all the time as the punchline of jokes!

If you (he) responds, you (he) will end up in jail. Do NOT touch her!

So, should she lay a finger on you, DO THIS:

1) Call 911 and tell them you are being assaulted.
2) Have her arrested and charged with DV, NOT simple assault. The police take over and THEY pursue it. This way, you cannot "drop" the charges.
3) Get a restraining order and move her out of the house.
4) Get a divorce.
5) Find a peace loving woman.

If this man was capable of hitting and hurting this women, then why did he not just overpower her in a " wrestling " hold.? The law states; that you may use no more force than necessary ( in most jurisdictions ) In some you must " retreat ". This is common knowledge. Men are designed by natural selection to compete with other males, so they got the weight and upper body power advantage, on average. So, why did he have to hit this women? It should be as rare as the most urgent self defense, but apparently it is not.

I'd do the same thing as the man. Some women can be real ******* and deserve to be put in their place. Although if I were a man I probably wouldn't hit, I'd take her by the arms and hold her til' the authorities get there. Unless the woman is bigger than you in which case your allowed to sit on her. It's only fair. Guys have to put up with a lot of crap and its unfair.

It's never right to hit anyone. A small percentage of domestic abuse is committed by women, but overwhelmingly it's men.

There's also a difference of degree:

Women are more likely than men to throw something at their partners, as well as slap, kick, bite, punch and hit with an object. Men were more likely than women to strangle, choke, or beat up their partners.--Archer, J. (2002). "Sex differences in physically aggressive acts between heterosexual partners: A meta-analytic review."

I wouldn't let myself get backed into a corner for starters. If I was with a woman like that, I would be gone for good the minute I seen that kind of rage as should a woman in the same situation.

Provoking violence & participating in violence is wrong.

It is a crime if a woman hits a man. It is a crime if a man hits a woman. Historically, women aggression isn't new. As long as they grew us in households with violence, these women are trained to be aggressive until they find a man "Man enough" (Disiplined & Kind) to teach them how to behave.

Chemically, men (on average) have more aggression (testosterone) leading them to more aggression. Should their anger come out, they may not stop with just one hit. Also, women can be pregnant and not show this in their belly. If they were hit, it may cause harm to the baby. Testosterone & pregnancy is why it is so important to teach men to NOT hit women at all costs.

It is heartbreaking to see rising numbers of violent women in society.

well i think women do take advantage because i guess they feel men wont hit them back but thats only some men. also i think todays society just see's men as being stronger then women so thats why its ok for women to hit them. personally i think that women shouldnt hit men because it should be equal rights because if women hit men then men might see it as it being okay to hit wmen.
