right click on a blank area of the desk top click properties then click the settings tab click advanced when the new window has appeared click on the adapter tab all the information you want will be in front of you

its pretty easy to find the kind of video card, but the memory is a little more time-consuming
for Win95-XP, right click one the desktop and click "Properties", then on the "Settings" tab at the end
it should say something like "Default Monitor on", then your video card maker and model (NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200, for instance)
to find the memory, reboot your system. at the very beginning, it should say how many MB of memory there is. you may have to reboot multiple times, the screen goes kinda fast

Belarc Advisor is a very useful utility - download and run it. It will tell you what sound device/s you have installed on your pc ... eg whether you have onboard sound on your motherboard - or a dedicated soundcard, in case you're not sure of your system setup.
