When my son (who breastfed for just over a year) weaned himself 6 months ago, my bra size dropped from my pre-pregnancy 34B to 34A. To make matters worse, my right breast is now smaller than my left breast (possibly even an AA cup). My son strongly favored my left breast during the last few months before he weaned. My pediatrician assured me that this is common and that my breasts would even out in size once he weaned, but they have not. Am I stuck with smaller, lop-sided breasts for life or will they ever return to normal (in either size or relationship to each other)? It is so embarrassing. Thank you!

Actually, it is the pregnancy that causes the changes in your breasts, not the breastfeeding, so your baby's preference wouldn't have affected them much, if any. Give it some time. Having babies does change us, no matter what Hollywood says.
If it isn't better in a few months you could find a La Leche League meeting or leader. They are experts on the art of Breastfeeding and related matters. A good leader should be able to give you an answer or refer you to someone who can. I would assume they have a website.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...chances are they are small and lopsided for good. My daughter weaned 8 months ago, and I am still smaller than I was pre-pregnancy. Which is particularly depressing considering I'm still carrying 20 pounds of baby weight-you'd think some would stay in the boobies. And they are all flat and point down too. Sorry...but hey, considering what your body did for the last 21 months (grown and feed a child), its not a bad price to pay.

i have always had smaller lopsided breasts and breast fed. after having my 2 kids i decided to get implants to even them out. i also went from a 34a to a 34d. it cost 4 grand and is worth every penny to not be embarrased. also think about how high a good padded push up bra is. i am happier and more confident.

Many moms I know say their breasts didn't perk up until about 3 years later. It can take a long time for mammary glands to reduce in size. You may still even be producing milk.
