For a single family house in the city of Boston- you'd be looking at an average of $150 a month-

A standard 2 bedroom apartment would be in that range as well.

For suburban areas- it can vary tremendously due to the electric supply (some cities and towns have their own community owned utility companys) so the rates can vary- but it will be a comparable rate.

What timing...I was just reading and now recovering from my MA Nstar bill. Even holding it there is now way to reply as there are 6 different charges. There's a usage charge, distribution, transition, transmittion, and my 2 favs energy conservation and renewable energy. Not sure why we are paying for that per each kwh we use, but gives em something else to charge us for. I've never seen a more confusing bill...imagine holding it and not being able to answer your question.

Though there is one clear and accurate answer....TOO DAMN MUCH!

We have residences in botrh the Boston and Montreal areas.

The rates in Boston are almost 5 times what the rates are in Quebec!
