I do not understand a neighbor said that a guy whom my roomate was helping was a sex offender she said he did something discusting to her she approached me with this. I then confronted him nicely. he got angry we got in to it I went to police the sign on door said closed. It was midnight. The next morning he shows up on porch making noise. I told him to leave. he threatened me. I call police they say there is nothing they can do unless a crime is committed. Do we wait until he huirts someone first? or what can I do now to prevent him from hurting others?

thats about right police staton closed .you should try to call suicide prevention they put you on hold.

I had the same problem but he did not hurt any of us. He is a register sex offender and sells hats in the corner of my house, I don't like the idea that he is so close to our house but he has not hurt anybody yet that we know, so really there is nothing you can do. And about the police being closed yes eventually I went thru the same, it makes me sick I drove my car in circles not knowing where to go since the station was closed at midnight. Anyhow I finally stopped a patrol and told him what was going on and that's the only way I got help that night. And back to the sexual predator get a restraining order and if he comes close to you he can and will go to jail if you call the law enforcement. Good Luck. Wish you only the best.

Guess I must be living on the moon. Never heard of such a thing that a police station is closed . They must be sleeping behind a stop sign somewhere .
How about calling on your local district attorneys office . Or the local newspaper to ask a reporter for advice . If he comes back have a camcorder ready .Make sure you lock your doors.

That's untrue. The police can intervene if there is the liklihood of violence; if he threatened you they should have responded. And many police stations close at night - they always have a notice showing where the nearest 24 hour station is located, and of course you can always call the emergency number for immediate assistance.

This was the same kind of thing that got poor John Lennon shot--people SAW the man stalking him day after day, it was even reported in newspapers and on TV, yet nobody did anything until AFTER he was shot.
Partly because of that, there are laws now against making threats or harassing people. Is there any way this guy can be accused of anything like that?

I cannot understand why the police station had a closed sign on it? Go to ur magistrate and take a warrant out on him for threats. U will hav to go to court, though, and carry through.

Look, the cops are not there for your benefit. They are there to protect and serve the interests of the rich. They are not there to stop crime, they are there to act after the fact. Remember this and you will be better off. DON'T TALK TO COPS.
