I am going to a reception tommorow night for resident assistant applicants. I am supposed to where interview attire. The nicest thing I have is a polo shirt and a nice pair of jeans. Should I just go buy a pair of dress pants and a nicer shirt? I have a couple of button up shirts that are short sleeved.

You need to go shopping! Never wear jeans to an interview, and you obviously don't wear a polo with dress pants. And short sleeved dress shirts are OUT! That is what old men wear, or maybe did wear in the 80's. Just get a pair of kahki dress pants and a nice colored button up shirt thatis long sleeved.

well, if u have nice jeans keep those, then on top put on a nice shirt, short or long slleved, it doesnt matter,(preferabbly white), make sure it is classy looking u know nice clean and ironed!, and then just put on a really nice, classy looking blazer on it

this is perfect it is the perfect mix of classy yet casual, it would be hard to go wrong
