My dad recently cheated on my mom. I guess she forgave him, because he still lives with us and nothing has been said about divorce. I had to listen to them fight EVERY night for like 3 months until they finally figured out i knew. I don't know the details because i haven't asked. Things got better for a while, but for the last few days they've been fighting constantly and i can tell my mom's unhappy. Why won't she just leave him?

She probably wants what is best for you. She also probaly still has feelings for your dad. Even though someone betrays you it still doesn't take away the love you had for them. Try to talk to her about it and ask some open questions on what is going to happen your what you think should happen.

First of all girlie girl this is your parents relationship and although you may have an opinion you are best to keep it to your self until your parents try to work Thur this difficult time. You may not like what has happened however you should not be sitting in judgment of him, after all he is your father and one does not just support one or the other. Do not get caught up in the politics of it as it really is not your business. Time will tell what is going to happen- give them both some space.

no one will be happy if their partners cheat on them. your mom is going through a very tough time and may need your support and comfort. let her know whatever decision she makes which is best for her happiness, you will be there for her. I don't know what you can say to your dad though. just be strong and try not to let their fights affect you. it's their relationship and whatever they decide to be together or live a separate life, they'll still be your parents. give them time and they'll figure it out. good luck!

it's always easy to choose the easy way out... leaving or have a divorce. but it's very hard to make that decision. since you know your mom is hurting maybe you can give her a "hug?" and let her know that you love her. she needs that at this point in her life. people make mistakes and a lot of times it's hard to undo those mistakes and we have to live with it everyday of our life. this is a difficult situation for you hearing them fight, wish they could spare you that. you can talk to your mom and let her know of how you feel. i would truly appreciate it if my daughter will do that. take care and good luck!

thats not the easiest question it could be alot of things plain and simple maybe she just loves him maybe its not the end of the world and they want to be together maybe its a sence of security if they have been together for a long time it could be just that she dosent want to have to quit and start all over again its not that easy to just leave someone because they cheated theres alot of feelings attched to all of it try talking to your mom or another trusted adult or even a friend that has been through the samething

How long have they been married? Sometimes people that have been married for a long time, just are in a rut, and think why leave now, I'm to old to find someone else or don't want to start over. I don't know how old you are, but maybe you should sit down with your mom and talk to her about it, maybe she's staying with him for your sake. As my mother would always say"if you can't talk to your mother, who could you talk to" Meaning don't be afraid to talk to me about anything. Go for it!! Good Luck!

Not sure. My dad was alcoholic. My oldest sister knew it first, told my mom to leave him, she wouldn't; me and my brother and another sister said it to her next, she didn't leave; finally when my kid sister said to leave she caved in. Some people are in denial.

She has her reasons and they probably won't make sense to anybody else. However it is HER choice. You can't tell her what to do.
