I have a red tail boa in a large enclosure 5ft x 4ft x 2ft. I keep it bewteen 90-100 degrees farenheit during the day and let it drop to 85 at night. The trouble is the humidity was to low and spraying didnt seem to work since the wood would just soak it all up. I went to the store and bought a cool mist humidifier and it seems to work well, but I am wondering if the vibrations or noise from the motor will stress the boa? it's not terribly loud but it does make some noise as the fan runs etc... any suggestions?

I don't think it would stress it out too much but If you have to only use it when you need to and try to just mist a lot or put live plants in the tank they give the tank a lot more humidity than the silk plants.

Sounds are probably ok - Strong vibrations directly on it's enclosure may not be good. Set the humidifier on a foam pad or some styrofoam squares to cut down on vibration. A swimming pool the size of a kitty litter pan may help with the moisture situation. Good Luck !

The boa wont be stressed, but something you might want to do is change the substrate into one that is not that absorbent. Also, a big water bowl would be good for the snake to soak in, and this snakes need water because tejhy are tropical.

what you could do is get a humidifier and put it by the snake and the snake will only get to about 3 to 4 feet long but the motor might stress the snake out he might not want to eat. but try i moss i had moss that was good for the snake and its food too go to a reptile store and u might be able to find the nose there

100 f is pretty high for a boa, i would say the red tail will prob not be stressed if the humidifier is not making that much viberations.
