Dude...ask your self...."Do I have a life?" if you said yes then HELL NO wow isn't worth it. IF you don't have a life get Guild Wars. I heard its free. Though if you don't have a life you might as well pay the price for wow. Warcraft 3 is great though. That's a game you can stop playing for a week or two and still know how to play.
A way to know if you have a life. 1) You have a girlfriend. 2) You have friends who DON'T play wow. 3) You play a sport. 4) You do some activity other than computer 5) You can run a mile without passing out.
Please don't play wow. You will regret playing it

OK well really it depends on the kind of gamer you are. WoW in my opinion is a great game and probably the best mmorpg out there but the only problem is the monthly fee. For me the monthly fee is not worth it because i can only play it on the weekends when i can get to my computer. IF AND ONLY IF YOU CAN PLAY WOW EVERY WEEK YOU SHOULD GET IT. Unless you can afford the monthly fee. Oh and if you havent already try the demo (warcraft.com) and if you get addicted to it like i did (lvl 16 in ten consecutive hours) then hey you should get it. but for the $15 a month you shoukd be playing like every day.

ask yourself the following questions:
1.) do you like rpgs
2.) can you put up with a few idiots
3.) can you handle not being the best person out there or work extremly hard to be the best person out there
4.) are you going to put the time in really to make it worth it. 30 minutes to a hour a day imo is about what is needed to do it. if you plan to do high-end content you better have 3-4 hours free a couple of days a week.
i would probably find a free MMO out there if it is your first one before you get into a paid one to decide whether you like it or not.
currently i'm playing http://corum.gpotato.com/ which is free while i'm playing wow. while they are quite a bit different and corum isn't complete or near complete it will give you a idea what to expect.
personally though $12-15 a month isn't much to try it, i would give it a chance. i wouldn't buy Burning Crusade though until you know you like it. the stuff for new people in there isn't much and is a waste if you don't like it.
it's a decent game minus the idiots and the easiness.
note: i currently play WoW with 2 characters at the highest level and a few mid-ranged.

Well the monthly fee is $15 plus $19.99+tax for the actual game disk and another $49.99+tax for the Burning Crusade expansion, although I wouldn't suggest getting the expansion until your already a devoted player. I would only suggest getting WoW if you can afford the monthly subscription and you have a good computer. I'm not sure on the specific requirements, but you'll need a good video and graphics card, a good processor and alot of free memory. Also, the game disk itself comes with a month of free play.

Only if you like battle.net rejects, Chuck Norris wanna-bes and people who can't stop talking about Chuck Norris. Add to that backstabbing clans, elitists and servers that go down twice every week.
In short, no.
