not even close. the mets are gonna run away with that divison. only reason philly was in it at all last year was because of 2 things.
howard hit 354 and had like 30 bombs in the second half of the season and lets be honest as much as we all love the guy..no way in hell will he hit anywhere near 58 bombs again. i say more like 40..45 at most.. and moyer was pissed that seattle traded him so he actually showed up to prove a point (which he doesn't have a point to prove this year so i expect him to drop and not go..what ..9-2...i think if anything he'll be 5 hun..if that.
the most exciting will be he NL west. simply because all of them teams will be in it til the end. yes i know most of them teams don't have super stars that will make you follow them..but then again..you didn't ask that. you asked what division will be the most exicting (i'm assuming base on play) and its hands down the NL WEST.

I think both of the central divisions will be tough. In the AL Central you have the 4 playoff contenders in the White Sox, Indians, Tigers, and the Twins. The NL Central is gonna be stout also. The Cards are coming off an awesome postseason, the Astros are also just good enough with the awesome pitching they always run into. Clemens may not play there and Pettette went back to NY but they will still find good live arms. The only question with Houston is can they hit with runners in scoring position this year. The Cubs..... I hate them so much but after spending $300 mill this offseason they should contend. Oh yeah, Derrek Lee is healthy again. The Brewers were one pitcher away from being a great team last year and picked up Jeff Suppan. There are alot of good divisions such as the NL East and AL East but I think the Centrals will be the toughest.

The AL East is over rated. The whole of the NL is bad, the east has two good teams, Mets and Phillies, the Central and West are mediocre at best. I know, I know the Cards won the Series blah blah blah. The AL Central and AL West are the only divisions with more than one or two good teams. The Tigers, Twins, Sox, Indians in the Central. The Angels, A's, Mariners in the west with Texas being a possibility. Yeah the NL might win the series again but they will be a weak league.

Ay, the NL East will be a load of fun, for the reasons you mentioned. But guess what, it'll be the AL Central. The NL East has 3 great teams. But the AL Central is loaded, with the White Sox, Indians, Twins, and the Tigers. That makes 4.
By the way asker/voters the first guy squatted my answer (changed his after noticing mine was better).

Everyone always picks the AL East as the toughest division. Now, I understand that they have the Yankees and Red Sox, but baseball isn't just those two teams. The toughest division to play in, year in and year out, is the NL West. Just about every season, all 5 teams make major roster improvements, and every season it's a race right down to the wire for the title. This offseason is no exception. The Dodgers added Jason Schmidt and Randy Wolf to their rotation, San Diego added Greg Maddux and David Wells, the Giants hooked Barry Zito, and Arizona added Randy Johnson to their already young, formidable pitching staff.
Got to agree that the NL East is going to be tough too, but it's always a wild time in the West.

The NL West will be the most exciting to watch because all 5 teams will be in an intense dogfight from April through September.
A CLOSE second is the AL Central with 4 teams in an even more intense dogfight (sorry, Kansas City, but you're the odd team out).

the AL East is always a race to the finish! the Red Sox are always sooooo close to being first but the stupid Yankees pull ahead. The Orioles and Blue Jays always get off the a great start but the Orioles didnt upgrade this year and the Blue Jayes did. NL East second for me!!
AL East standings:
Red Sox- 104 wins
Yankees- 98 wins
Blue Jays- 89 wins
Orioles- 82 wins
Tampa- 67 wins

The AL east is the best. How may divisions in baseball have team's that win 90 games and not finish 1st?

Gotta be AL Central. You have 4 good teams competing for 1 division. All of them look like they deserve to be there and only 1(maybe 2)will end up in the playoffs.
