a few weeks ago, my ipod nano went through the washing machine. i thought of course that it was finished, but after it dried it worked just fine.
give it time to dry out, and then go from there. also, mine didnt turn on initially so i assumed it was done, but once i connected it to the usb cable, it lit up fine and turned on. good luck!

just leave it alone and wait until it dries completely. Don't try to turn it on or use it at all while it is still moist, as you can ruin the odds of it reviving. If you can remove the battery, the better the odds of it surviving.
If it's still under warranty, most electronics these days (including cell phones) come with a strip of fluorescein ink inside and the ink smears all over when it gets wet. Then it will look stained when you look at it under a black light. That way manufacturers know to not honor warranties when there is water damage.
So, if it's COMPLETELY ruined, no hope for it at all, and still under warranty... throw it in the dishwasher a few times to remove all the fluorescein, clean the outside w a cotton moist in alcohol.... take it to the store.... and claim that it stopped working for some reason that you don't know... **g** they may fall for it if none of the fluorescein shows, good luck

understand floor section AND volume WITH respect TO DENSITY. that's a issue called displacement. at the same time as the deliver is sitting in the water, it strikes a particular volume of water out of that's way at the same time as it pushes down into the water with its weight. This transfers into stress adverse to the water that's transferring. The water is unquestionably attempting to bypass back the position it replaced into as a outcome turning out to be stress. at the same time as the water pushing back equals the boat pushing down and out, then the boat stops sinking down and floats. So, see you later because the perimeters of the deliver are tall adequate to nevertheless be above the outdoors of the water at the same time as the boat stops transferring down, the boat will waft. you may attempt this on your sink. Fill your sink with water to about 1/2 finished. (or 1/2 empty if you're a pessimist) Then take a medium sized bowl and set it in the water. without letting the bowl bypass, push down gently into the bottom of the bowl. you should experience the water easily pushing the bowl back up. Or stress of the water resisting the pushing downward. you'll locate a bowl that isn't tip over, and positioned issues in it including cups. upload more beneficial issues steadily, and note the bowl sinking decrease and reduce because it displaces more beneficial water. ultimately, the bowl may have too a lot weight, the water will come over the perimeters, and the floating will fail. This stress is a similar stress you experience once you dive right into a pool. The deeper you bypass, the more beneficial your ears experience it.

Leave it in a dry place, and dont mess with it for about 1 or 2 days to let the inside completely dry. Dont even lift it, so that whatever water is in it will stay contained to one place. After a few days of letting it dry, try it, and hopefully no permanent water damage will have been done.
Good luck

I once dropped my phone in a glass of water like an absolute tw*t... even after i let it dry out for a while it still wouldn't work, and the manufacturers said it was beyond repair.... however i was recommended to take it to a dodgy backstreet phone repair shop (you know the kind i mean, where they offer to unlock sims and phones to all networks for a fiver and stuff like that) I think it was called the phone clinic. Aaanyway, they had this sort of acid bath thingy that they used to leach all the water out of my phone, and after that it was good as new! So maybe the same sort of thing would work for your ipod...? Take it to a phone repair shop and see!
