I love the name Katrina! Who cares if she's named after a hurricane? She won't care when she grows up.

Guys, did you not notice that every hurricane is named after a name? I think Katrina is a great name and would consider using it.

If it were at least 10 years after hurricane Katriana, maybe. But since the effects of the hurricane are still prominent, not really. I'd recommend taking Katrina and Rhea off the babynames list.

ok evry hurricane is named after a name. but have all caused such a horrible disater? name one. I think it is little to soon to name a baby Katrina, even though it is a nice name. People are going to look at you weird or think you ar psycho. You don't know who was affected by the hurricane and when they hear your child's name they may resent your child when you really need them to be doing something positive with her. Consider using it as a middle name, just don't name her Cane.

I like Katrina, but after the hurricane and all, I think it would be a bit odd..

I always like Katarina (Cat-a-reen-a) better. Plus, you could shorten it to Katie.

Good Luck!

Personally I like the name. Hmmm if she is named after the hurricane......she could be a problem child. lol The name means pure or clear and is the German, Finnish, Swedish form of Katherine....it's a beautiful name.
