Make a list of your favorite things to do. Then list your favorite places to go and/or shop at. If you think you can do better, then that may be the place to start. In other words, do you like solving people's problems? Do you like the way customer service people talk with the public? Do you like working with things or people best? Do you like writing or working on the computers or working with numbers? If you could get paid doing your favorite thing, whenever you want, what would that be?
Shortly you'll be able to narrow the list down to just a handful, but at least it'll get you started in thinking. If you don't like the sight of blood, then medical facilities are probably a no no. If you like working with a variety of people and making them feel good, then you should do something with the public. If you don't mind taking instructions and directions, then you'll probably make a good manager, because a good manager knows what to expect and knows how to treat other people. Including their own supervisor.

Excellent question. I wish others would ask themselves it more often. True, finding a career is very important in one's life. Yet equally true, is the person you envision yourself in becoming after two, five, and ten years. It is all a matter of decision. For example, let me share with you my situation. I started college with the dream of becoming a surgeon. Perhaps I will someday because I have the knowledge and skills to be very successful in that field. I decided however to pursue business. I sat down with a mentor who was very accomplished and was working to strive for greater heights and I asked him the same question you ask now. I envisioned myself living a life doing multiple things such as writing novels and teaching and I saw how foolishly I had choosen the idea to become a surgeon. I realized the business world offered me exactly the flexibility I needed to develop other talents I had so that I would not be bogged down at a hospital from 9-9PM. I wanted to live my life my way. How do you want to live your life? If you have more questions shoot me the questions at puja_wci@hotmail.com. Good Luck.

my Father retired working for the same company for 37 years, but those years of job securities are gone and now you have to look for what can you do the best and look for a career to use those skills and be very prepared to be a multitask and to learn as much as you can. I think everyone need to be so flexible in career finding and not fallow something he/she doesn't like.
