The truth is that the ratings were fine but the cast no longer wanted to work together. In particular. Alyssa Milano and Rose McGowan weren't getting along to well. They had given the girls all the incentives they could. They were given producers credits for year ever since Doherty wanted then in season two. By season eight there was no pleasing them. Aaron Spelling called it quits and was planning to move on when he died. They have discussed a movie but the girls are not ready to get back in their halter tops again , and rumors of a spinoff have been met with the fact that they can not get the rights from Spelling's estate and moey to film the series which would cost more because it has to be filmed in the future. And that is the truth.

I'm guessing the ratings dropped...because even I didn't like it much after they killed the character Cole even though it was still awesome that they brought in the story line of Leo and Piper's future son coming back to save Wyatt from turning evil. I think they should of just stuck with the sons theme and kept going from there instead of bringing in more women to be starring alongside Phoebe, Paige and Piper as witches. I think that is what really killed the ratings.

I was sad to see it go too, but I liked how they ended it with them filling in their lives at the end in the book and showing all Leo and Piper's grand children.

Ratings dropped and therefore money was a big issue. They could have done more. I did like how they tied up a lot of loose ends for the final show.

It ended because it was becoming never-ending. Besides, the last season had different writers/producers or something like that. I guess the ratings didn't come in )';
