I went to the spelling bee. I missed the word croquet. I spelled crochet instead. I got the definitions mixed up. Can you offer some comfort?

This is the last spelling bee I can be in. Eighth grade ends it. I feel like crap!

I spelled my first word chronology right. In a spelling bee at school, I won by spelling bee by spelling archaeologist correctly. I missed fandango in the county wide but first and second get to go to the state wide.

I once won a spelling bee by spelling the word "toboggan"...and my last name ends in "ski". Now, how funny is that? Old Polish joke....why do polacks have ski on the end of their name? Because they can't spell toboggan. :-D

well, i'm sorry, you mixed up the definitions...i would liek to say tha i resepct anyone who ius even in a spelling bee in the first place becaiuse they have to study hours each day, and work very hard..so great job for even getting through to the auditions..it's okay,m there will always be more contesets..keep your head up and high, an dkeep going...:)

You have no reason to feel bad and you should be proud of your achievement. There are tons of younger people on yahoo answers who can't spell to save there lives, so maybe you can start an on line tutoring class, lol. Good luck and congratulations.

well shelby knowing that i am a terrible speller i would have spelled that word to because croquet is an englishmen sport i think and croquet has alot of silent letters in there it is berry understandable

I'm 57; always won the spelling bees till they asked for affect vs effect. Finally got that one straight in my 50s.
I can sympathize.

Hey its ok...there will be more spelling bees...don't worry....I spelled environment wrong (inviroment)...and mascara (mascare)...Its ok you maybe just got stage fright....I was only in the class to get to the actual bee...but I really didn't wanna go.
