2 weeks is about average. I think after a month they get worried.

But honestly as long as it doesn't smell funky (or at least funkier) or is bleeding it is probably fine.

Okay I know something to help dry it up really fast. What you do is get cotton swabs, use a bit of water to stretch it out kinda thin then put some alcohol on it and loop it around the baby's umbilical cord for about 5-10 minutes, then go ahead and unravel it and throw it away. Keep the diaper off of it by either buying the diapers specially made for newborns with the cords still on, or rolling the diaper down. Rolling the diaper is easier on girls, if you have a boy make sure you tuck the penis down or he'll end up peeing out of the diaper. And you do that once or twice a day, but no more then 10 times. Preferably after a bath, that way the the alcohol can dry up the water you jsut put on it. Oh and it should take up to a week and a half. Just be persistent with it, and keep it dry.

I have heard of up to 6 weeks. The longest on mine was 4 weeks and that was because I kept it too clean ( used alcohol 4-5 times a day instead of only twice) 1-2 weeks is normal.

at the back of schedule separation of the cord generally grants no subject. be sure that the cord is uncovered to air and allowed to dry. decrease a VEE interior the front of the diaper if mandatory. Very infrequently, at the back of schedule separation of the cord is linked with a definite immune deficiency. yet 2.5 weeks remains in the suited selection of regular.

In about 10 to 21 days, the stump will dry up and drop off, leaving a small wound that may take a few days to heal

My friend's baby had it on for about a month and a half. After that she contacted her doctor. I think it finally fell off at 2 months
