in addition to the above , charge the battery and disconnect the coil , crank it for 30 seconds MAX. and let it rest for 1 min.(this will ensure the starter does not overheat) then do it again for about 4 times , this should get some oil to the bearings , connect the coil and have fun

Wow a 66. Ok this is gonna take a few words to get you going again

#1 Remove the gastank and drain out the junk out of the tank
#2 Have the carb rebuilt
#3 Remove all the spark plugs and pour in some oil ( leave out the plugs)
#4 Change the oil and put in good oil
#5 Drain out the water and have the radiator flushed
#6 Depending on the state of the tires, you might have to change all of them because of dry rot.
#7 Replace all the belts ( Again dry rot)
#8 reinstall the plugs and try and start the baby
I do mean baby . If she has been sitting that long if she does start and turn over BABY IT FOR ATLEAST 1000 miles to get her worked in again.
Oh and please dont let this happon again.

the first thing is to get the old gas out and put some new gas in,then do the followings.....1-change the gas filter
2-points,condenser,rotor,and cap.
3-new plugs and wires.
4-change the tranny oil(if its antomatic)
5-change the motor oil and filter.
6-check the tires and the air in them.
7-check the front end and grease it.
8-check the rear end and check the grease in it.
9-clean it up and wax it.
10-check the hoses and change the thermostat and anti-freeze.i hope this helps you get your stang back on the road.also if its a manuel tranny,check the tranny oil,or grease.
