If everybody is focusing on Global Warming they are missing the piont. The fossil fuels supposedly responsible are a FINITE resource. Most geologists and study groups looking at oil supply agree that we are close to, or have already used half of it. Pretty soon the price will go up, and then down and then up, but always increasing. Ordinary folk will not be able to afford to fill up their cars, never mind fly.

Many look at the vast oil sands and shales and say our salvation in in them there tar pits, but you have to use vast amounts of gas and water. Why use gas, a first class fuel, to make low grade crude? It doesn't make sense and besides gas is finite too.

So the answer is to conserve what we have left, and leave something for the generations that follow, otherwise we will go down in history as the selfish gits who burned it all.

Action was needed in the 1970's when we could have done something to stop it. Once started it feeds itself. Fossil fuel burning and cow farts have done their work. The heating will continue until the ocean currents are disrupted and the heat flow to the poles is reduced. The North and South will then get colder and the equatorial regions to to 40 North and 40 South will be the new tropics. The Temperate Zone will be limited to 5-10 degrees and the food supply will be diminished. Food shortages have been responsible for many notable extinctions over the past 450,000,000 years and another one will be nothing special.

Global warming is a very serious matter. People shouldn't drive cars unless necessary, people should use bikes, the train_not anything that can release carbon dioxide. Everyone thinks global warming is a joke and it isn't. The o-zone layer of the sun is GONE, that why now we need to be more careful about when we go out and our skin is exposed. Also global warming has forced the US to change their time. We changed the clocks to save energy and eventually this planet will be so "worn out" that planes aren't ganna be able to fly, there will be no more gasoline, and people will be getting cancer anywhere because the air will be so polluted. I think us earthlings need a wake up call to stop harming the environment. Well i guess that's it....that's one persons opinion.

"Global Warming" believers are not listening, Ken. When scientists challenge their claims, the believers try to suppress any reasoned debate, calling those who doubt "deniers."

Not long ago, one of the original signatories to the 1992 letter that sparked the Kyoto Protocols, Dr. Claude Allegre, a member of the Academy of Sciences in both France and the United States, recanted. He pointed out that, if Global Warming were indeed true, its effects would show up first in the polar regions. In Antarctica, however, thirty years of records show that snowfall amounts have not changed and that the ice cover has in fact increased over all.

If Allegre had known then what he knows now, he would not have signed the letter. Global Warming believers, from Gore on down, have tried to suppress his evidence.

It certainly appears that there is more politics than science in so-called "Global Warming."

Of course its a con, but how else is the government going to raise taxes they've taxed everything else and there's no where else to go, so let tell everyone its our fault and tax them for it. As for flying and driving we will soon be banned from that and it will be like living in the middle ages again, where no one leave their local community. I'm planning on getting a ox and cart, so what are you planning to do ?

Well, when you read peer reviewed journals instead of Heritage Foundation pamphlets, you see that indeed we are in uncharted territory.

For you to assume that tens of thousands of climate scientists are either all incredibly stupid or just part of some "green tax mafia" is a reflection on your own profound lack of knowledge and maturity.

Pick up a copy of Science, Science News, Nature, Scientific American, etc. and educate yourself before you form your opinion. Right now, all you have is empty rhetoric and supposition filling your head, and as such your opinion is without any form of foundation. You are aligned against the very thing that has made Western Civilization great, science and scientifc knowledge. Only a complete fool treads such a path.

According to my Earth and Atmospheric Science professor the Earth is actually in a minor Ice Age compared to the average temperature over the history of the world. Core samples of earth taken in geology studies have shown that we are still at a low temperature compared to the past.

It is very real and man-made. Scientists all agree, only those who stand to lose alot from it and ignorant people who are blissfully unaware of the facts say it isn't true. The facts are clear and alarming, watch Al Gores 'An Inconvenient Truth' on DVD - it has alot of charts and information regarding Global Warming.

In the past, when world economies were about to get into difficulties, we had a war to distract people. Now, however, they can't get away with that because the media wont let them. So, they have invented global warming as an alternative distraction. Seems to be working.

Global warming is real enough, but I don't think human activity is responsible for it.

Contrary to political correctness and government propoganda, I would suggest that the reason is solar activity and the subsequent reaction with the atmosphere and oceans.
