I'll give you a clue, it isn't the Royal family.

Don't forget the SMPs, WAMs and NIAMs as well, then the unelected (and unknown) "regional assemblies". The whole lot should be first against the wall.

The Royal Family by some considerable distance. Everything the Royals have, all their "personal wealth" and "own home" are owned by the British Public and maintained at our expense. MPs and MEPs compared with other similar democracies are actually good value for money and are also accountable o the public and can be disposed off.

The elected memebers and advisors are there to implement the process of government, we can be tabloid reactionary about them and moan but at the end of the day government is required. MPs are compartively poorly paid to their European and USA counter parts and most would make more money in private industry. their expenses are avaiable for public audit and generate employment and wealth in the communties they represent.

The royal Family also have hidden costs, the loss of a massive amount of intrest and revenue from capital and funds bought by the nation and held in their names.

Each tax payer in the UK pays around 65 pence a year for the upkeep of the Royal Family, so it certainly is NOT they who cost the tax payer the most...it's that other useless lot that you have mentioned...

God Save the Queen!
