Its been about 4-6 weeks since the last time me and my girlfriend had sex. 2 days after we had sex she had got her period. But she was supposed to get her next period the Thursday before last (11 days ago), so she is 11 days late. Why did she get her period 2 days after we did it but missed this period, was it too early for her body to know or what? Or could she be a week late for a differnent reason?

Yes, a period can be late for reasons other than pregnancy. Things like illness, significant weight loss or gain or a new medication can cause a period to be late, but the main culprit is usually stress. Stress can make a period come later than usual or earlier. If she hasn't taken a pregnancy test, she should. In the meantime, this could be an excellent opportunity for you both to explore the world of birth control. There are lots of options available besides condoms.

You can be late for several different reasons - how old is your girlfriend? Has she recently started her periods (in the last year) as if so then she could still be settling down.

Another reason could be that she is stressed - especially if you are worried about pregnancy - or that is she isn't eating well or isn't feeling well.

On the other hand, it could be that her last "period" was something called implantation bleeding - this is blood that 'escapes' when an egg implants in the womb - though it is rarely like a "period" and much more like bloody discharge - there shouldn't be that much blood.

Finally, was her last period at the right time? It is possible for orgasm to bring on cramps that would 'trigger' her period a day or so early - this could mean that she isn't as late as 11 days.

If it were me I would go and do a test - after 11 days it should start to pick something up if she is pregnant - but the likihood is small if she had a proper period.

Good luck!

She may be pregnant but she also might just be stressed out.

My hubby and I were trying for a baby.We tried and tried but every month I got a period. Finally we decided not to have one or try for a while. We had sex and then I had my period.About 8 weeks later we found out that we were going to have a baby.

You see it takes 2 weeks for the fertilized egg to travel and stick to the uterus. It is very normal for a woman to have a period within that time.Have her take a test and about 2 weeks or just set up an appointment to see her doctor.

Good luck and God bless.

Yes, it's possible. Stress, exercising too much, etc. There are plenty of reasons.

Take a pregnancy test ASAP to take the heat off of you guys or to start you off on decision-making.

If she is pregnant though, don't press for an abortion. It can have long-term psychological consequences for her and it's selfish to press her for that. If she has an abortion it should be ENTIRELY her choice and she should know all the risks and fully believe it's ok. If there are any doubts in her mind, she will regret it forever.
Step up. If she decides to have it, you should take responibility for what you have spawned. Adoption is a good choice if you aren't ready.

In the future, pills, condoms, the whole drill.

she could be late for other reasons but that is not to say she is or isn't pregnant, you should have used a condom, if she is pregnant you will pay a heavy price for a 1 minute thrill. Condoms are made for two reasons both good ones so let this be a lesson learned next time you have sex (with anyone) use a condom

there are several reason why a woman could be late other then being pregnant. my advice would take a home pregnancy test to rule it out and if she's not pregnant and her period is still late I would take a trip to see the doctor.

Good luck.

She's probably not pregnant if she had a period after you last had sex. If she is concerned, she should go to her doctor. But all women have changes in their menstrual cycle. It is normal. But her doctor can ease her mind.
