If you didn't lose points, everyone would always ask infinite number of questions. In order to make there multiple answers to a question instead of multiple questions left answerless, Yahoo implements a penalty to asking questions, making sure things don't get out of hand.

I love Daria, by the way. :)

there's a 'value' of 5 factors for asking a query. in spite of the indisputable fact that, in case you opt for a perfect answer after 4 hours and interior of four days (8 days in case you strengthen the question), then you certainly get 3 factors for that. So asking a query choose in basic terms value you 2 factors. that's clever to cost in this type to attempt and shrink the form of stupid questions which some human beings seem to love posting.

When you ANSWER a question you earn 2 points and when you ASK a question it costs you 5 points. Thats how it works and thats the whole reason for earning points by answering questions so that you can use the points to ask your own questions. So, thank you for my 2 points and sorry you wasted 5 of your points asking this question.

that is the price for posting a question. you should always pick a best answer for your questions in order to get some of those points back (3 points).

viva la resistance!

If you read the guidelines that is one of Yahoo's policies. Everyone looses 5 points when they ask questions.

You always loose 5 pts. for asking a question, you loose pts. for deleting an answer too.

But you gain 2 pts. for every answer you give +10 more if it's the best answer. & 3pts. for picking a best answer.

Because you posted a question!

I have always wondered why posting a question is such a negative thing? (But hey, I get 2 pts for that!)
