How comfortable about teachers playing an active role in curriculum development?

Would you prefer to have these decisions made by others?

I would be comfortable playing an active role in curriculum development, but I have a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership.

Regardless, every teacher makes final decisions about the curriculum in their classrooms--like it or not. Teachers teach what they want under the guidelines outlined by the curriculum.

Not all teachers have the capability or the knowledge to set a curriculum. I would prefer that it be set by someone who is more dedicated and knowledgeable in each individual field (which some teachers are just not all).

As a teacher, I desperately wish we had more input. We are the ones in the trenches so to speak, and have a better understanding of what goes on the classroom and what our kids really need.
