I have both a Mac and a PC. I always respond to this question like this: Depends on what is important to you. If you need compatibility, check with your work or school to see what is predominate and go with that. If you are not concerned with that, I would recommend sitting in front of both to see which one you like in terms of performance, and usability. I only keep a PC because I need to be sure my class work can be sent between home and class. Other than that, I prefer Mac for my day to day computing. The interface is way friendlier in my opinion.

well i believe computers runing windows xp are better and i own a mac and a pc. windows lets you use various formats almost every program made is for it. it is great for gaming and music it is user friendly and can be supported all around the world. security is another issue it isnt hacker safe spyware safe or irus safe all alone but if you buy norton or spyware doctor you are safe macs offer the same things not as many games or sooftware but it is safe soon enough after it is more popular it will have many viruses and then it ont have many sucurity tools because it used to not have virues i would reccomend a windows machine they are cheaper nd more effcient but macs are cool and savvy but soon they will be on the same level as pc's

I'm sure Mac is great in many aspects, especially in graphics and system stability. But it has less software support than Windows does. So Mac is sort of limited in user applications and games.

I prefer Windows because I get used to it. I blame Microsoft for that.

In conclusion, no system is perfect, one is better than the other one simply because of the bias opinion of user's own experience.

I prefer Windows because of its compatibility and wide selection of software and hardware.

Sure, Macs don't get the viruses, but what's the point of getting a secure system if it's not going to really have any software?

You should also include Linux. Free, reliable and up to date OS'. Plus thousands of free programs.

A good example is UBUNTU (or XUBUNTU if the computer has less than 256MB of RAM).

It's a free, reliable and up to date operating system.

You can explore it from the "LIVE CD".

It's easy to install and use. You can dual boot it with other operating systems.

Once you have it installed, you gain access to thousands of free programs created by the open source community. There is excellent support - see the WIKI starter guide, and the Linux forums.

Always back up your data before making changes to your computer.

Macs are great, and you don't have to worry about viruses. I went from PC to Mac and once you go Mac, you never go back!

I like Windows because it is easier to use. Macintosh computers are complicated.
