Having Australian friends,thanks to the internet, I do think that there is a bit too much influence of the US on the country, but it is not only Australia, it is the entire world. Too many bad TV shows going around the world, thanks to Satellite TV. I see with my friends the desire for all clothing American, and the fascination with cultural ideals, not always positive.

No. I don't think that Aussie values ever varied much from those held by us Yanks. But I haven't had the opportunity to visit the land down under, so I could be wrong on this.
