One of my friends lives a pretty crappy life and I don't think that his family is going to even remember it's his birthday. The problem is, is that I am on a very tight budget. I want him to feel like someone cares enough to think about him a little. Someone else is making him a cake, and a card goes with anything so other than those two things does anyone have any ideas? Thank you!

How about a t-shirt depicting something that interests him - bowling, fishing, video games or whatever. If you can't find a t-shirt like you want, you can get a plain tee and purchase an iron-on stencil. Neither one costs too much. Or, if you have a second-hand store or thrift shop near by, browse around in there. Sometimes you can find a real treasure for very little money.

you should ask him what he likes first. if he says he doesnt want anything, then just give him flowers or some of his favorite candy bars.or you could just get him both. lots of the cheap ones are pretty nice. good luck with whatever you get him.

a shirt or anything that's practical-- something he can use. that's what males prefer. want something cheap? alternatives: mug/tumbler, pen, socks, hat, etc. Your choice, you're his friend; you know what he prefers.
