I look at a question and sometimes the answers if I think that I know something that can be of help or a link to somewhere that can then I will answer if not i don't answer and leave it to those who know more than I do on what is being asked.

I try to answer the question because if I had posted a question, I would want the answer, not just a reply. That's what you mean isn't it?

Too many. Anyone used to using a computer should know how to use a search engine.
Passing on a question to a search engine is not the objective of 'Answers' .. it is a sharing of knowledge with others. Obviously some answers will not suit the person's needs and may be far too involved for the asker to follow.
Errand boy, don't be so hard on yourself,, at least you're honest. You seem to be new to "Answers" ..keep plodding on.

In my opinion (only my opinion), a lot of us will just reply for the points. But - most of us are ready to help with a good answer when it is needed. There are some who will take the pxxx (crosses mine) But I honestly think that most of the people on here like to help when they can. Good luck to you and all sincere answerers!

I always try to answer the question. I never use a search engine or any underhand means to reply to a question.
But then again, that's probably why I'm at level one. I don't know my bum from my elbow.
