I would say some sort of fish!!! No really I wouldn't be at all surprised if any of the early seafaring cultures made pre-Colombian contact with the Americas. I'm positive the Vikings did it. Romans, Greeks, Egyptians, Phoenicians, or even Asiatic cultures crossing the oceans is both plausible and likely. Cultural, architectural, and artistic similarities between Ancient Egypt, the Orient, and Mesoamerican civilizations are compelling evidence for some sort of pre-columbian contact between these civilizations.

When you ask crossing. do you mean form west to east, or from north to south.
Columbus discovered America through the Pacific ocean.
The first that crossed from north to south both oceans, was Americo Vespucci.
That's why I give him the credit. being the first crossing all the Atlantic ocean
