Do you really want to saddle your son with the name of a man who obviously doesn't DESERVE to have a namesake?
You can name your baby anything you want, but really think about it.......you are going to be the person in this baby's life and you are going to be the person he/she looks to when times get tough or their is something to celebrate - give him a name that comes from someone he can be proud of not someone who is nothing more than a sperm donor.
(Then take the low-life father to court and nail him for child support!)

You can not but the last name of the father, once the father has been named without his permission. The best you can do is take him to court for a dna after the baby is born. They will not put his name of the certificate. You can call the hospital and they will verifty this. Do not let him ruin your babies birth. Take care of the dna and child support after you recover. Good luck

you have particularly some questions there. in the beginning particular. you would be able to provide your infant your final call. i think of this is a smart decision. as in case you gave him the daddy's final call and then later needed to alter it you may choose his permission to accomplish that...and that i will guess that if he's already making threats (ie. no longer signing the beginning certificates) then he should not be to any extent further actual looking down the line. 2d if he would not sign the beginning certificates you are able to nonetheless call him using fact the daddy on it (it will be difficult for him to say no if he's there for the beginning, yet he nonetheless ought to). newborn help. Paternity would be common throughout that technique the two via him admitting to it and signing a paternity affidavit or via a courtroom ordered (paid for via him) DNA try. the two way it is not something you will ought to rigidity or unfastened sleep over, he will. bear in concepts it could soak as much as a 300 and sixty 5 days or extra in the past you start to be certain money from him via way of latest child help. initiate the approach early is my suggestion on that one. wish this facilitates.

In most states, you can name your baby anything you want (within reason). Aside from some registered trademark, last names are not intellectual property and one person cannot stop another from taking on a last name of their choice.

But ask yourself this -- why would you want to give your child the last name of a person who doesn't want to claim paternity?

to be honest, i would give the baby your name.
The babys father is obviously not interested so what would the point be? the reason of surnames is to keep a family name going, and if the father is not there, then he isnt family.

It will just be unfair on the child when you have to explain why he doesnt have your name, and why he has his dads name even though he isnt around.

Look the guy is obviously a looser. Do you really want your son to have his last name? I would push for him not to carry on that name.

Plus you can get a DNA test to make him pay child support.
