Ricky Schroeder starts in the show tonight as Jack's new partner. How do you think this will effect the show, why do you think they are giving him a partner, and do you think maybe they will kill Jack?
I did hear a rumor that Kiefer wants off the show.

Keifer's contract is good for another season. and if jack gets killed off i won't watch the show anymore.jack is the show.

I can live with him having a partner even if it is Ricky Schroeder as long as Jack is still "in charge". If they kill Jack, I don't think I could still watch.

Wow...I can't hardly imagine Ricky Shroeder as Jack's partner! I'll have to see that to believe it! And no, Keifer signed up for several more years of 24 so he's not going anywheres for a while. Hmmm....I wonder if Ricky will make it thru the rest of the season alive?

Kiefer has signed on ...I thought it was for another 3 years, but it may be 5. Anyway....he is not getting killed off. He has said in the past that it would be kinda cool if his character could die, but Kiefer knows he's got a good thing goin' on. He's no fool.
Rick Schroeder is there....in my opinion...to fill the void of Curtis (kind of). Although I wish they would've just let Curtis live, but I digress.

I still have trouble separating him from Silver Spoons, but he was on NYPD Blue, and did an excellent job. I think he will do fine, but there's no way you can replace Jack, I think it would kill the show. There is no character strong enough with the screen presence that he has, that you can fall back on. Bringing someone in from the outside will not solve that issue either. We need to relate to the character, and learn about him, and grow to feel close. You can't just bring someone in hoping they will be a match. I would be very suprised to see Jack die in this season. Unless it is the last, then that would be a good way to end it.

The show would collapse without Jack Bauer ! Ricky Schroeder is a good actor. He'll do good.

I don't think they would pick Rick Schroeder to replace Kiefer. He hasn't proven to be a leading man yet. I think they just needed some new ideas.

No matter what, I hope this is the last season. The show is getting pretty stale now.
