Sheraton is part of the Starwood Hotel Group (includes Westin and W brands). Doubletree is part of Hilton Hotel Group (includes Embassy Suites, Homewood Suites, few others). In general, they are priced near the same for the most part. Problem with both brands you mentioned, they are not very consistent in quality, and their rates seem to reflect quality ratings, and it's hard to really give it a fair comparison. I've stayed at both brands, several times, and am more pleased with the quality of Doubletree.

I don't know. But DoubleTree gives you free chocolate chip cookies when you check in. They're sooooooooooooo good!
