It's called "product placement" and is a really lucrative form of advertising. The people making the movie take their script to different comanies, such as apple, and pitch spots where the product can be placed. The company pays the movie production company a certain amount of money to get it's product placed in the movie. The more screen time or the more central to the plot the product is, the more they pay.
Sometimes the result is kind of silly--like using mini coopers for a huge bank heist. Other times it blends right in. The most famous old school example is reeses pieces in the movie ET. Apparently, m&m's were approached but weren't interested in paying to be in the movie. Any time you see people drinking a can or glass of something and the label is easy to read, it's product placement.
Apple is really good at getting their product placed in lots of movies and tv shows.

It's advertising AND ease. The advertising revenue is the same regardless of whether it's an Apple or pc manufacturer. The difference is Apple computers are already "on the set"; everywhere. (look at special features on King Kong, Peter Jackson is previewing realtime on an Apple laptop, all other studios are the same way). It would be extra wasted space, setup, storage and effort for a major studio to use a pc as a prop.
Why have a computer around JUST for a prop? Use one of the dozens you have in the office or already on set.
[p.s. esoterik seems a little pc psycho]

I have noticed that too. Probably because Apple is popular and apple lets them put it in the movies.
Apple is like the best computers so they have to put the best in their movies.

Could be that you hardly ever see Macs so when they show up it is very obvious.
It could also be that you are just looking for Macs so it only seems like they're everywhere. Kind of like if you're thinking of buying a Jeep, you'll see Jeeps everywhere.
More than likely it's just product placement. They do that in everything now. The Office is probably the worst offender on television.

Apple will pay money to have their product placed in movies or endorced if you want to look at it that way. It is basically product placement. Any named brand you see in a film is a placed there specifically for a reason. They pay the movie for that priviledge.

Because Microsoft and other PC companies don't need to advertise their complete domination of the software/hardware market, whereas Apple does need to advertise because they want to advertise and make their products look sleek and edgy to people who don't know anything about a decent computer system.
