Nope, I don't think it's wrong. My ancestors for hundreds of years have eaten meat. Long before PETA came along and tried to make it morally "wrong". They needed nourishment!
But there ARE ways to get a proper source of protein without eating meat. I was a vegetarian for a while, so I found these other ways to stay healthy. I was a veg. not because of the eating animals part, but more because I really just don't like the taste of meats all the time.

No, and most predictions about 50 years into the future are laughable. I say look at the past and you can see the future as far as human consumption goes. For the last oh, umpteenmillion years, meat's on the menu. Probably will remain so the next umpteeen million or so. (ha).

Man didn't eat meat until after the great flood in Noah's day. All the vegetation was covered in water, so God told Noah and his family that they could eat meat. They took two of some animals onto the ark, and seven of others.
That's when mankind began eating meat -- after the Great Flood.
I don't think we'll be eating meat forever. I believe that someday the vegetation will all be good enough to nourish us again. Dried beans have protein, and combined with rice they make a complex protein. We don't need meat. We have cheese and milk.
I eat meat, but not as much as I used to.

Animals were not put here on this earth to be eaten, so no, it's not okay. Maybe the PETA member is wrong, but that's only because there are too many naive people in this world. Oh, and there are other ways to get protein.

I agree with "oh what can I do" above,
1 cup of pinto beans is equivalent to a t-bone steak,...there are many ways to get your protein first hand and not second hand from a cow, pig, or bear,or deer, or whatever one chooses to eat. We like what we like, but that doesn't always equate to longevity or good health.

Animals that have eyes at the sides of their heads are prey. Animals who's eyes are in the front of their head are predators. Predators eat meat. I'm a predator. Mmmmmm BBQ.

I don't believe in killing animals just for sport. I do however believe that animals are intended for humans to eat, or at least some of them.

It happens in nature every day! There's no way it's "wrong" to eat meat!
