yet people say that you cannot make yourself love someone? I dont get it?

I've never heard that you can't make yourself love someone. Of course you can.
I believe that you can choose TO love someone.

Without getting completely philosophical here, I would have to say that love in itself is a natural feeling that develops over time. I don't think many people sit there and consciously tell themselves to love someone. You can try to convince yourself that you love someone/something, but it would not be a love of the true kind. Love is a garden....

No I don't think you can make yourself love someone, but you can choose who you let into your heart and who is brought close to you. I don't know but I read it as maybe a color difference? *example: your parents are against you being with someone of a different race, you say "I can't help who I fall in love with". If you didn't allow yourself to become close to this person knowing that nothing could ever become of it then you would not have to be in that situation to begin with* Does that make sense? ehh I'm sleep deprived, nvm me. you cannot choose who you love any more than you can choose your parents....you CAN however choose what actions to take...even if you love a scumbag, you can CHOOSE not to do anything about it, thereby saving yourself a lot of grief

Different people have different views.
It depends what you believe, but I think you choose who you like, then that like can grow to love.

BECAUSE YOU CHOOSE WHO YOU WANT TO BE WITH, AND YOU ARE RIGHT NO ONE CAN MAKE YOU LOVE THEM, SO IF YOU DON'T LOVE THEM YOU WON'T BE WITH THEM.
