You can buy it anywhere. They have decent eye makeup over the counter for a fraction of the cost of department stores. There are also some stores like Rite Aid that you can return the make up if you don't like it. This gives you the option to try a variety of products and return those that don't work for you. I wouldn't buy makeup at Claire's, I would go with a brand known for makeup.

If you want to buy cheap makeup - stick to drugstore brands like Maybelline, Revlon, Max Factor and L'Oreal. Never buy products that look or smell old!
I use both high end and drugstore brands. The primary difference I see is in the pigment of the product - for example MAC and Stila eyeshadows and blush, have more pigment than Maybelline etc. Other than that, department store brands tend to have fancier packaging.
I suggest that you have a mix of both types. You can buy high-end products when you want a darker pigment (black eyeliner, shadow) etc and stick to drugstore brands for lighter shades.
Since I started using Revlon's Colorstay range (powder, eyeliner and shadows) I haven't considered getting similar shades from Stila/MAC/BB because the quality is almost the same.

Ok- Im a make-up junkie here... You can find the same color in MAC as Cover girl for a fraction of the cost. And it works fine on a daily basis.
Invest in good make-up BRUSHES! This makes all the difference in how the makeup actually looks on your skin!
If you know that you have a photo-op (prom, wedding, pictures, etc)- splurge on a good foundation (I love MAC) and maybe a blush- the rest can all be purchased for a few bucks at a local convenience store.
have fun!

If you really want a good make-up, it doesn't matter how much you spend. As long as you can test the make-up in the store and see if it has good pigmentation. Meaning, take a little on ur hand and test it, if it gives u much coverage or color in one swipe you've got a winner. Some color just goes away with a blow and thats a no no.

My foundation is expensive! My eyeshadows are a mixture, some I chose in the cheaper range but don't smudge, while others were more expensive (I bought for the outstanding color), but do smudge. Everything else is relatively cheap. Yeah it might be better if it costs more, but the products I have work, so why bother with the more expensive?

well...the higher the price the better the quality...spend as much as you are willing to...on the tyra show once though, i seen this episode where the put makeup under a microscope...there was really really tiny microscopic things moving around in it...maybe you could search more about that on www.tyra.com, but it's worth spending as much as you'd like to spend. more money=better quality...=]

i personally like the more expensive foundation, compack and eye shadow. I go to walmart and by the eye liner, mascarra and what ever else is left. I have never bought anything from Claires. i like MAC eye shadow but not the foundation. you just have to try and see what you think looks best on you. Beleive it or not there is a difference. Even my boyfriend notices.

you dont need to spend so much money either. but you can buy higquality expensive ones if you have lots of moneyyy. otherwise i recommend maybelline, loreal, nivea... has normal prices and good quality i think.
i sometimes buy Dior, YSL. but mostly i use maybelline, nivea, maxfactor as i trust their quality and i can afford them ;)
also never buy makeup products from claries and places like that.

its really your decision, but I will tell u now...Clairs is crap, only for preteens, if your going to buy drugstore brands stick brands like Quo, at shoppers or Loreal, its made by Lancome...Your top brands r better for quality purpose and for your skin, they will also last longer and not wear off throughout the day.
