My son will be five months on the 18th. He has excessive salvia, chews on his fingers and anything else. How will know if he is beginning to teeth and what should I do to make him feel better during the process?

he is teething. We have found the best thing is a cold wash clothe to bite on. they make other toys , but between that and a rubber keychain. they are happy. Ask your doctor before using any medication, and keep an eye out for ear infections. I don't care what a doctor says teething does cause ear infections.

Sounds like he is. Those frozen teethers work well, seems to sooth the baby's gums as the teeth are coming in. Just stick your finger in there and feel around, see if you feel a tooth breaking through. Make sure he has lots of clean toys to slobber on lol....If he gets grumpy, a little tylenol will help.

Good luck :)

Is he biting everything around? do find everything around him wet because of this? Give him lot of flat rubber toys, such as some keys, and that'll help him a lot. Just one idea: try them yourself first to see if they have a nice taste, or ask a person in charge of the babies section before buying anything.

All the things you listed are signs of teething. he has already began to teeth. Give him teethers that have been in the fridge.
