Hermit crabs don't breed in captivity,if you have little white things in your tank it's probably mites.I'm just battling them myself in my tank.

Ummm not sure. I think my hermit crab just died a cple. days ago. I thought it was changing its shell cause it came out but it hasn't moved and some sites say that hermit crabs dont move when there changing shells. It looks like its jsut sleeping cuase it has normal color and it doesn't smell even though it hasnt moved in a couple of days.
