Another newborn baby boy was found abandoned and dead in Atlanta. Should the parents of this child (if they are found) be charged? What should that charge be? Should the father also be charged? What should the punishment be? Rarely are the parents found to be insane or mentally ill...Whats your take on these horrific situations?

I would think that prior intent was in the mind of the woman who left her child. Do you think that should make it 1st degree murder? That might be a death penalty case then, whats your view on that?

personally think that with so many places that you can leave a baby for ANY reason in safety with no fear of prosecution that people who DO not use this should be given the FULL weight of any punishment you can think up...............

There are all the fire department safe baby drop places, any police station, etc etc basically any place that has designated to be a safe baby drop...and there are more than a few around in Atlanta [dont live there but visited a lot].

The father should only be charged IF part of it, he may not even know about the baby period, let alone what happened to the baby boy...........and this excuse of I did not know what to do is total cr*p IMO as if you are old enough to lay on your back you are old enough to take some of the consequences of doing so.

What a pure pure shame for that baby............

I think they should be charged with murder - failing to seek the proper medical attention for their newborn child.
There are too many other options available - I work in a safe-haven state. We have three bassinets set up at different hospital entrances. You just place the baby in the bassinet and push a buzzer and walk away. No harm no foul and no one will try to stop you. This way the baby will get the care it needs and be safe.

100%..homicide is homicide, and even more heinous when an infant is involved!!
The father, well, that depends on a few things, was he there at the birth, did he help dispose of the body, did he even know that she was pregnant and he was the father!!
Mother is guilty, no matter what, too many people are willing to give homes to infants, there is NO need for this to ever happen. The mother ad possibly the father should be charged with 1st degree homicide, child endangerment, improper disposal of human remains..littering..anything they can be charged with..charge them!

They should be charged with murder and given the death penalty.

There are places you can leave your newborn if you can't care for the child, such as fire station, police station, places like that.

Whoever abandoned the child to die should be charged with premeditated murder. There are SO many places...hospitals, fire stations, churches, etc., where you can leave an unwanted newborn...no questions asked, that it is unconscionable that a newborn should be left to die.
