i just signed up for spring track at my school. i know there are certain foods you should eat the night before a meet, and right before a meet that will give you alot of energy. what are they? and what foods should i stay away from that will make me sluggish?

Before Running a Race, But I guess this can apply to Training to,

The Week before,
Eat protien and carbon foods so that you have a good energy level.

The day,
Have a light breakfast. Don't eat any solid food for three hours before the run, just water.

I commonly consume a banana or a tangerine or 2 kiwis approximately 30 min previously a run, yet I, too, am finding for concepts in this very subject rely. i've got saved your question so i'm able to view the different solutions.

you should eat plenty of protein and carbs upto 3 days before your race,
after that cut down your intake but keep up some form of glucose intake for added endurance and strength

something light(cereal) i was gonna say nothing but i remember when my football coach told us we are suppose to eat
