I got a cpu, monitor, and all the accessories that go along with it by my Gpops. It's relatively new with an LCD monitor instead of the seeminlgy prehistoric TV monitors and it looks to be in good shape with no major mishandling dents are marks. The problem is that when i set this jawn up it don't start. I was thinkin' it could be the power chord, the chord that connects the 3-pronged piece on the tower to the electrical outlet. However, that was not the case. It just won't start up no matter how many times i press the power button or hold it down or any other kind of method known by me. Since it's not startin', does this mean that the cpu is trash and irreparable, or is there hope that it can be saved. My guess is that it won't start becuz it hasn't been used for a year, like i said before, it's relatively knew.

If it does absolutely nothing it most likely is the power supply...the part that the cord connects to inside the PC.

Sounds like either 1 of 2 things:

1) The power cable that connects inside the computer from the power supply to the motherboard might have become disconnected, or is loose.

2) The power supply itself has failed.

Your best bet would be take it to a reputable PC repair place and have them crack it open and take a look. Unless you're comfortable doing the work yourself.

I would guess the more likely cause is the power supply, and will need to be replaced. A new power supply would probably run about $50-$80 in general. Some can cost more, some less, but that's a good median range.

Hope that helps. Good luck.

Power Suppy is bad, get a new one and instll it, make sure you get one that fits, some are longer than others. You can get one from $39 to 100 bucks depending on what you want. Ihave a new for sale for $50 bucks 600 watts you can contact me if you are interested. Sound like a good system, just needs a power supply.

You might just need a new power supply. They run about $25. You could even have accidentally touched the button on the power supply that switches it from 115V to 220V. If so, you might only have to switch it back. Finally, you might check to see if the power inside the case is connected to the motherboard. If not, plug it in.

well, it don't start, but can you hear any thing going on at all? if the power supply when bad then it will not do the post, or start, but a fan *might* try to turn on, then stop. only a year old, take it in to a shop, and have them diagnose(too many things can be happening to do it over the net with that description)

Sounds like the power supply. You can buy a new one for little or no money...around $5.00. Try that.. OK Power supply is that box with the fan in it and the power cord connects to it.

I dont know where you live, but around here there are little computer shops that will diagnose your computer for like 30 bucks or something. There is one here that will make your computer primo, you just have to pay about 10 bucks an hour, which is pretty cheap. Computers are very odd things.
